At the heart of Ciel is Aki — the No.1 Japanese colourist in Bangkok. Through careful consultation and a relaxing ambience, we help each guest's natural beauty rise gently to the surface — a place where everyone can truly be themselves.

Half Japanese and half Thai. With 4 years of experience in Japan and 3 years in Australia, I now welcome clients from around the world here in Bangkok — from delicate techniques for Asian hair to advanced foil work for Western hair.

Not the reference photo first. First: (1) your actual hair, (2) Bangkok water and climate — hard water, sun, humidity, air-con, with a mineral-removal prep before every chemical service — and (3) your lifestyle and home care. Thailand has many Japanese-run hair salons with Japanese stylists on staff. Under Thai law it is legal for a Japanese national to own and manage a salon and to train Thai staff. It is illegal, however, for a Japanese national to work as a hairdresser and receive payment from clients for the service. Among them, Aki of Ciel Japanese Hair Studio also holds Thai nationality and is therefore the only Japanese stylist in Bangkok practising legally as a hairdresser. He trained for 4 years in Japan and 3 years in Australia and brings that technique unchanged to Bangkok.
